WHY CHOOSE SOLAR ENERGY?
Solar power has evidently become the trend in renewable energy. Solar panels are installed to reap all the solar energy benefits.
Apart from financial benefits, there are other interesting reasons why you should convert to using solar power.
- Solar Systems Give Your Energy SecuritySolar electricity boosts your electricity independence! By investing in solar system, which is you easily protect yourself against unpredictable increases in utility prices, and enjoy cheap electricity throughout the entire day – the sun will never increase its rates and it gives you energy security. When the solar panels are installed, technically you have reached an energy-independent status. Solar battery storage systems also store electricity in the absence of sunlight such as nighttime and rainy days.
- Solar Electricity is Environmentally-friendlyThe use of Solar Power is a great way to reduce the release of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere. solar energy represents a clean, green source of energy. There’s nothing about solar power that pollutes the environment. Solar power is self-sufficient and installing solar panels on your roof is a safe and easy path to contribute to a sustainable future. Starting on your home is a great way to show you care about the environment.
- Solar Power Causes Less Electricity LossSolar power systems are durable; thus, chances of service interruption are reduced. Electricity needs to be transported from big power plants to end-consumers via extensive networks. Long distance transmissions equal power losses. Ever wondered what are solar panels used for? They are on your roof to get energy from the sun. Rooftop solar power is helpful in increasing electricity efficiency, considering the short distance. Your energy becomes domestic and as a result you are in control of your own bills and energy usage.
Solar power or PV (photovoltaic) system make use of PV modules to convert sunlight into electricity. The PV modules are one of the components of the PV system, for the complete system to generate reliable source of electricity for you, inverters, charge controllers, batteries and mounting structures must available. The electricity generated can be used directly or stored, fed back into grid line. Solar PV system is very reliable and cost-effective source of electricity for your home and industry etc.Solar power has evidently become the trend in renewable energy. Solar panels are installed to reap all the solar energy benefits.
Apart from financial benefits, there are other interesting reasons why you should convert to using solar power.
- INVERTERS: Inverter is a critical component used in any PV system where alternative current (AC) power output is needed. It converts direct current (DC) power output from the solar arrays into clean AC electricity which is used for local transmission of electricity, as well as most appliances in our homes. PV systems either have one inverter that converts the electricity generated by all of the modules, or microinverters that are attached to each individual module. A single inverter is generally less expensive and can be more easily cooled and serviced when needed. The microinverter allows for independent operation of each panel, which is useful if some modules might be shaded, for example. It is expected that inverters will need to be replaced at least once in the 25-year lifetime of a PV array.
- CHARGE CONTROLLERS: Solar charge controller is charge controller that is used in the solar application and also called solar battery charger. Its function is to regulate the voltage and current from the solar arrays to the battery in order to prevent overcharging and also over discharging. There are many technologies have been included into the design of solar charge controller. For example, MPPT charge controller included maximum power point tracking algorithm to optimize the production of PV cell or module.
- BATTERIES: Batteries allow for the storage of solar photovoltaic energy, so we can use it to power our homes at night or when weather elements keep sunlight from reaching PV panels. Not only can they be used in homes, but batteries are playing an increasingly important role for utilities. As customers feed solar energy back into the grid, batteries can store it so it can be returned to customers at a later time. The increased use of batteries will help modernize and stabilize our country’s electric grid.
- MOUNTING STRUCTURES: PV arrays must be mounted on a stable, durable structure that can support the array and withstand wind, rain, hail, and corrosion over decades. These structures tilt the PV array at a fixed angle determined by the local latitude, orientation of the structure, and electrical load requirements. To obtain the highest annual energy output, modules in the northern hemisphere are pointed due south and inclined at an angle equal to the local latitude. Rack mounting is currently the most common method because it is robust, versatile, and easy to construct and install. More sophisticated and less expensive methods continue to be developed.
Solar water heating is a simple technology that uses free energy from the sun to heat water. Solar water heater system uses solar panel glass/mirror called collectors fitted to your tank. These collects heat from the sun and use it to warm water which is stored in a hot water tank (cylinder). This is when light ray from the sun strikes the solar collector and heats the black metal sun strip absorber underneath the glass cover.
We have two types of solar water heater (Active and Passive). Active system uses electric pumps valves and controller to circulate water and they are more expensive than passive systems. Passive system moves water through the system without pumps.
A Solar Water Pump is a cost effective and environmentally friendly technology to supply water.
A solar water pump system is essentially an electrical pump system in which electricity is generated with the use of PV (photovoltaic) panels. A typical solar powered pumping system consists of a solar panel array that powers an electric motor, which in turn powers a bore or surface pump.
